Roll Resources exponent vs. Ob set by the cost of the purchase.

Tax

Failed Resources test → Resources exponent reduced by 1 (or more for spectacular failures). Resources at 0 = destitute (no further tests until recovered).

Tax Recovery

  • Work a job / earn income through play
  • Successful Resources test for earning money

Fund

A pool of dice set aside for a specific purpose. Created via Resources test. Fund dice are added to a Resources test for the intended purpose, then spent regardless of outcome.

Cash Dice

One-use bonus dice representing liquid wealth. Added to a Resources test, then spent whether the test succeeds or fails. Do not count toward advancement.

Resources = renewable stat (taxed and recovered). Cash dice = spent once and gone.

Lifestyle Maintenance

Periodic test (between adventures). Ob based on standard of living:

Lifestyle Ob
Squalid 1
Poor 2
Comfortable 3
Wealthy 4
Opulent 5+

Failure = tax.

Helping with Resources

Helpers add +1D as usual. If the test fails, the helper also suffers tax.
